Frequently Asked Questions
How can we help you?
What data do you have?
All data collected is publically available.
Our site is quite new. Presently we are gathering data only in the state of Minnesota, where we live and are based.
A live tracking of the number of donors we have added to our database and the amount those donors has contributed
is available on our Donors List and our Home page.
All data is collected through scraping public documents.
We identify and download public documents from the internet. We then extract the data from those documents and add it to our database.
We do not collect any data from private sources. Other sites have similar data, but do not collect the addresses. The purpose if this
site is to allow local candidates with limited resources the ability to see where people live and to pitch your case to potentially
like-minded voters.
Our current collection is two year-end reports.
In 2022 there was a governor's race in Minnesota. We have collected both the year-end report for the winner, Tim Walz, and the
year-end report for, Scott Jensen. It is likely we will make these downloadable in the future. We will also update this page as
we gather more data.
How do we use the site?
Our Donor List is the core of this site.
There are links to the Donor List on the Home page and in the navigation bar. The Donor List is a list
of donors, their addresses and their contributions. The list is searchable by party affiliation or by zip code or multiple zip codes. If you
represent three zip codes and typically support candidates on the left or right of the political spectrum, you can generate a list of donors
residing in your district. You can then use this list to solicit donations or to target your message to these donors.
The data is protected, but it is there.
You can visit our site and check the Donor List to see the data we have collected. Feel free to sort the data and
it will return a count and list of donors and the amount they contributed in the past. But you will not be able to see some of this data as we've blurred
and randomized it both to protect the privacy of the donors, and because will be selling this data to candidates and political parties.
While not set in stone, we have an idea.
We are still working on the pricing, but we are thinking of selling the data in two ways. The first is a one-time purchase of the data you are interested in.
You sort the data how you want, get the list how you wish it to be, and we'll sell it to you for a one-time fee, currently set at $1 per donor in the report.
The second is a lifetime membership. You pay a one-time fee of $250 and you get access to all existing and future data to download as you wish.
Disclaimers
All data comes from public documents.
Though a donor may have contributed to a candidate in the past, they may no longer be at the address we have collected. We will update our data with public
information, but there's no guarantee that data is current to the moment you are ready to knock on their door.
Though we made efforts, our scripts may not have it all perfect.
Data from these public PDFs is very difficult to extract. Especially the address data. Some contacts may have address data that is formatted weirdly, or
have a comma in the wrong spot. We will be making ongoing efforts to tighten this and find addresses for those that we know are missing, but there may be
gaps. We will be refining our extraction as we add documents, and going back to refine previous extractions as well.
We work full time in other positions for a living.
This site will be actively maintained and we are reachable to answer questions for people who are curious or who need support with a purchase.
Please understand our schedules may not allow us to respond immediately, but we will respond as soon as we can. We will respond to all contacts, but
it could take up to 72 hours during normal business periods, or longer, should the people working on the site be on vacation. Do not hesitate to reach out
but please be patient.
